Hey, check out this video.  I just happened across it today and thought it was pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure that this "free hug" campaign is not all about true Christian love, but it made me think.  If a secular campaign could be so successful in sharing what I would call a "knock-off" of real love...imagine what would happen if people got ahold of the real thing!    In other words, what would happen if Christians took a similar approach to share the love of Christ?  That is, after all, one of our highest priorities here on earth.

What would happen if we started loving people more openly?  Perhaps you wouldn't choose to display it in the form of free hugs, but there are plenty of other ways to reach out.  Think about it, and leave some ideas in your comments.

That is pretty sweet. It makes me want to go to Wal-Mart and hug random people. Wal-Mart should totally get the greeters to do that. I remember when the greeters offered smiley faces to everyone. I don't see that as much anymore. Rambling mode over.

I was just thinking about the mess our world is in. Some conspiracy theorists are saying that, with the invention of electronic voting machines and the lack of paper trails, even our votes are worthless in the realm of government. And while that's depressing, I was also reminded of Chris Rice's song.

'cause if the world's ever gonna change
we gotta love like crazy

I think it was Rob Bell who responded to person asking him why he's a Christian with, "I'm just trying to love everybody in the world, one person at a time. And you're next."

I don't always agree with him, but I thought that was cool. Plus, I'm not really the hugging type.

The madness side is great, you should come over more often. I mean, go over. :)

There was one of those free hugs guy at the mall in Fort Smith one day I was there. A security guard showed up and made him leave.

People feel loved when you accept them; regardless of the relative bizzareness of the person doing the accepting

I think you are right about that; people need to know what true love is, and aren't we the best people to show them?
